About me, who I am; Life story.
Hello! Omg the amount of love I’ve received from this has been overwhelming. I can’t believe this is really happening!!
So I’ve been brainstorming topics all day and night, thinking about the kind of things i generally would enjoy writing and reading about; also for all of you to take some interesting info from me, hopefully I’ll inspire you or give you something to have a think about, get those brain waves going 😉 I’ll be posting instagram polls and questionnaires; if you would like to be part of the conversation, just give me a follow and you’ll be up to date with all my posts and future blogs!
I thought the best way to start this off would be if I were to properly introduce myself.
Hello, I am Lallie (pronounced Lar-Lee.) I’m currently 21, my birthday is 20th november, yes im a scorpio… Not 100% sure what that exactly means, but i know some people are into that (shoutout talia, ana & jake <3) i was born and raised in oxfordshire, I live with my mum, step father, grandmother, my sister, my boyfriend and way too many dogs.. If you know, you know.. My mum is latvian and dad is English, which makes me half boring and half Eastern European 😉 which also means i speak english and russian; ive been raised by strong slavic women (my babula and my mama<3) and have inherited bad bitch energy and thinking that the world revolves around me! Which is exactly why this blog is the most “lallie” thing to do.
Speaking of “Lallie” things, let’s get into bad bitch things I have achieved and the humongous amount of hobbies and girly things I love to do.
Growing up my mothers priority was getting me into doing lots of “after school” activities;
- dance classes… hiphop, ballet, contemporary, tap etc.
- Art clubs.
- Singing lessons.
- Music.. Cello, violin, piano.
- Gymnastics.
- Swimming clubs.
- Karate, gojukai.
Most of these “hobbies” didn’t last too long, whether that was I just didn’t enjoy it, it was inconvenient for us to travel there, or the class ended/ closed down. The one that definitely created me into the woman I am today is karate and martial arts. I started from age 7 and finished at 14. It was absolutely my biggest passion growing up. It was honestly like drugs for me, completely addicted and became my whole world; Massively because of the physical challenge (i was an overweight child) but mostly because of the emotional challenges and the influence Paul Colman had on my life.
Paul Colman is, was, a real life super hero. The legend passed away due to cancer 28th september 2023. He not only taught me how to fight, to improve my karate technique, punctuality and discipline but also how to be a strong, independent woman, be kind; gentle with others and to always authentically be myself. He was an immense influence on my life, his passion for teaching others and changing people’s lives was magical. If he was still with us, no doubt I would have done an interview on his incredible life and shared his joys on this platform.. What a man. May he rest.
I felt that it was important to add that particular context to my life as his life lessons and wisdom really made me the woman I am today. I’m strong, confident, self assured and genuinely, authentically myself; no matter what. (and I can fight:)
I’ve given a little insight into my childhood, now onto my present years. I went to public secondary school, failed pretty much everything except art textiles, art, food tech (im an incredible cook, ask anyone x) thats pretty much it.. So if we’re talking academically.. Ive always lacked, in terms of artistic subjects ive always been very good, and have a natural talent that I’m very grateful for and I’m always learning and improving wherever I can. Growth is always a priority to me. After “gcses” (i was the year that got predicted grades, due to covid) i enrolled into beauty college, as beauty and makeup has ALWAYS been a huge part of my personality, I’ve always dreamed of being a big time makeup artist, and doing makeup for beautiful brides and celebrities on red carpets.. I got into college and really started to love learning all things beauty, as it was my biggest passion, I studied in my free time. It meant everything to me. I wanted to succeed more than anything. I did that for 2 years and smashed my exams, got a job at a couple different salons, then went into being a full time, at home, nail technician. BEST DECISION EVER! My rules, my hard work, my hours, with genuine people who loved me and my work and cared for my attention to detail. Absolutely the best thing I’ve ever done. I love my clients so much and I wouldn’t be anywhere without them.
I was also on the side (on weekends) working in a bar as a bartender. I loved the art of making beautiful and delicious drinks, quickly and efficiently, I loved my job. I was the happiest I’ve ever been. Now my life has changed; That, we’ll get into another time, it’s going to be a hard one to write and trigger warnings will be set for those who would prefer not to read along. That’s all from me. I hoped you enjoyed learning a little bit about me and who I am. As we go through this blogging journey together, you’ll get to know me more, but for now, this is it. Thank you for the love on just my silly introduction, this is now a formal intro and it’s so nice to do this with you. ❤
Lots of love; love.
